Dear Juno or any other pregnant teen in this situation,
I am neither sad nor impressed with you getting yourself pregnant. I'm just saying this could have been avoided! However since you are pregnant, and a teenager, I do believe that you should do what is best for the baby and yourself, with your parents help of course. It is your job, if you decide to have the baby, to make sure that baby will have a long and prosperous life.
After you deliver your baby I hope that you be smart and use birth control. Did you know you can use multiple different types of birth control at the same time?
You may ask where is my proof? Well I'll tell you the truth. I talk to my mother about sex, just like what every teenager should do. She prefers the full version. However I do want to admit that talking about sex has not only made me more cautious but it has made me more educated as well. What am I saying? I believe that you should have talked to your parents more about sex instead of getting yourself pregnant.
There is one thing that I don't understand. Maybe you know the answer, how can a person who is taught sex education in school and maybe even a little at home, become pregnant? That is why I firmly believe that sex education should be taught in both schools and by the parents. I do understand how people don't listen to their parents at home or at all. After all I am a teenager.
In my opinion abortion could be the option for you however I believe you made the right choice having the baby and giving him up for adoption. I do believe that abortion is not a good thing, however I don't believe it is evil. I strongly believe that a teenager should have an abortion, if the baby will mess up your life. Soon it will be crying and screaming for milk and what are you going to do with him or her while you are finishing high school? I bet you give the baby to your parents. However, under the Fourth Amendment according to the case Roe vs. Wade you have the right to have an abortion. The Fourth Amendment is the right to privacy and therefore is an important amendment because it could relate to so many things such as abortion. Therefore I cannot judge your decision and others shouldn’t either. Therefore you did the right thing giving him up to a family in need.
So is it possible that most people who are pregnant just haven't had enough sex education?
In conclusion I believe that sex education should be taught in both schools and households and I believe that a woman, if she doesn't want to get pregnant, should use multiple birth control.
